Industrial and Durable Powder Coating
Powder coating is the process of applying a polymer resin to a charged surface, creating a thicker coating in one application than a single coat of liquid paint. It is beneficial for high-volume settings. An electrostatic charge holds the coating onto the surface, which remains in place after curing. Powder coating performs well in many environments after curing and is highly wear-resistant and environmentally friendly. We offer a variety of colors, finishes, and textures, and will meet or exceed AAMA 2603 performance requirements.
Powder coating involves 3 steps.
Pre-treatment: Clean surfaces are a necessity for obtaining a high-quality coating.
Powder application: After all dirt, oils, and grease are removed, the workpiece is electrically grounded and the powder coating is charged. Electrostatic spray gun is used to apply a charged powder to the surface of the component.
Curing: The final step is to heat the workpiece in a gas convection oven until the powder coating melts to form a smooth, even finish. To achieve this, the oven temperature must be between 350F and 450F. After products have cooled, they are ready to be packed and shipped.
Thousands of everyday products use a high-quality powder coating finish. Products with powder coating are more resistant to diminished quality from impact, moisture, chemicals, UV light, and other weather conditions. It’s tough looks great and will last a long time.
